Well, while I was playing Black Ops 2 today it suddenly freezed. I turned it off and turned it back up and it said File system on the storage is corrupted and will be restored. Cool, no problem I've gotten the same problem with DCuniverse Online so I knew it was going to to restore and restart work again.
Problema Ripristino File System Ps3 2
So I click ok, then wait till it gets to 100%. After I thought it would restart and work again, wrong!
After it finished to 100% it went to a black blank screen. I wait for hours and it stays their, tried it many times and nothing happens.I tried to do a safe mode and it wont even start, I hold the button, first beep comes up, then I keep holding and it just shuts down the power. So no, safe mode wont work either, and i know how to do it because Ive done it before.I looked in google to see for similar problems and turns out theirs many people with the same issue.
Now I just dont want it to be a HDD problem because I have DCuniverseOnline and it took me days to download the game so whats wrong with it? Please help anyone. If it do something to my game, Im going to be very mad at COD black Ops 2 Dev because this is just absurd. Now my PS3 HDD is messed up thanks to their game.
QUOTE='Surebrec, post: 5344475when trying to play GT5 last night, my PS3 froze on the race loading screen leaving me with no option but to unplug it from that mains power supply.after retsarting it, I got a message telling me that 'The hard disk's file system is corrupted and will be restored', so I let it proceed with restoring it, then when complete, it reboots only to tell me the exact same message over and over.is there any way to get past this problem, or is my PS3 screwed beyond all hope?/QUOTEI had it. Yo get to the restore menu:1. Shut off the ps32. Press and hold the power button until the system beeps twice AND turns off again3. Press hold the power button until the system lets out two fast beepsSupported Features of 2.50 Recovery ModeThe current Recovery Menu supports:- Restart System: Restarts the PLAYSTATION®3 System.- Restore Default Settings: Reset all system settings back to default.- Restore File System: Checks for corrupt/missing system files.- Rebuild Database: Rebuilds the OS for the PLAYSTATION®3.- Restore PS3 System: Fresh restore; Deletes everything and starts from Scratch.
Sounds to me like a dead or dying hard drive. If you're PS3 is still under warranty contact Sony to see if they can send you a new hard drive, failing that you can get 2.5' SATA drives fairly cheap, around £35 for 320GB on Amazon. If you have a hard drive enclosure (or a SATA to USB adapter) you could always try connecting it to a PC, formatting it just to see if it works. Then replace it into the PS3, it will then re-format the drive (if it's working) to it's own file system and hopefully work. If it doesn't work chances are the drive is dead.
QUOTE='Surebrec, post: 5344544unless the cost of a new HDD is less than £25, the cheaper option is to call in the extended warranty.I'm more concerned right now about my game saves, and more importantly, managing to deactivate my system before I return it./QUOTEYou can forget your saves bud. There is nothing wrong with your system so it really depends on what you would like to do. The most convenient thing for you to do is just get a new HDD and start over with the game saves. Unless you want to take the long route with Sony. That said there really is no hope for your game saves sorry to say.
